Jeff Baena, an American screenwriter and filmmaker, was born on June 29, 1977 at Miami in Florida. He is popularly known for his work on the movies Life After Beth (2014), Joshy (2016), The Little Hours (2017), Horse Girl (2020), Spin Me Round (2022), and for co-writing I Heart Huckabees (2004).
Baena relocated to Los Angeles to launch his career after graduating from NYU’s film program. For Robert Zemeckis, he started working as a production assistant on many movies.
After working with Zemeckis, Baena accepted a position as an editor’s assistant for writer-director David O. Russell. One of Baena’s eyes was hurt in a small vehicle accident after they had been working together for a year and a half. Russell started talking with Baena about tale ideas in part to keep himself entertained and cheered up while he was healing from that. They eventually worked together on four different screenplays.
