Gerald Joseph Blavat was born on June 3, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States. He is best known for promoting oldies music on the radio as the host of the Geator Gold Radio.

Jerry Blavat started working in the 1950s. Throughout the 1960s, Camden, Trenton, Wilmington, Atlantic City, Allentown, and Pottstown all received his syndicated program.

Jerry Blavat advanced in his career as a result of his work with the Lost Nite and Crimson record labels in the 1960s. He was also a co-owner of the Record Museum chain of record stores, which is no longer in operation, alongside Jared Weinstein and Jerry Greene.
