Mary Nell Steenburgen was born in Newport, Arkansas, on February 8, 1953. She is an American actor, comedian, singer, and songwriter. Her parents were Maurice Hoffman Steenburgen, a conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad, and Nellie Mae Steenburgen, a secretary for the school board.
