Mamukkoya, who is popularly known for his work in Malayalam film, was a legendary Indian Actor, who was the first recipient of the State Award for best comic in Malayalam cinema throughout the course of a career spanning more than four decades and more than 450 Malayalam films. However, he has been featured in a couple of Tamil movies and the French movie Flammens of Paradise.
Mamukkoya made an appearance in Sreenivasan’s Doore Doore Oru Koodu Koottam, which was written for Siby Malayil, he played the role of an Arabic teacher in the movie.
At first, only two or three sequences included the character, the producers, however, were pleased with Mamukkoya’s performance and decided to give him more screen time. Mamukkoya later stated that he stopped going to the timber yard and acting in plays after seeing this movie. Then he got a part in Gandhinagar Second Street, another Sreenivasan script.
